Crochet Tops, We Make – We Love

Source: Fashion Gum

Why crochet and knits are so in trend? It’s quite simple, they have a certain sexiness, a little bit of peek-a-boo and a little bit of boho-chic vibe. It’s no wonder why we see so many chics wearing those knitted, slightly see-through tank-tops around. You might say they are dressing this way for boys, well, you are not right. We dress this way for fun and just for ourselves! Another great thing about crochet and knitted tops is the versatility. You can wear them for parties, beaches and street walks. Speaking of bottoms, then you can try to style crochet with pleated skirts, minis, pencil skirts, maxis, shorts, cut-offs, office wide trousers, jeans, etc. While the shoes: boots, flats and heels. In other words, they look ideal with anything.

Choosing a knitting pattern is perhaps the most exciting part of knitting. It is the beginning. You can see the vision of the treasure you will create. There are a few things to consider before choosing your knitting pattern:

  • your skill level
  • purpose or person the project is for
  • yarn choice
  • seasons it will be worn in
  • supplies and materials
  • time investment
  • completion deadline

Some projects require planning for acquiring supplies and materials or the time that will be needed to invest in the project. If your project is for a special occasion, like a birthday: when is the birthday? Take all of these factors in to consideration and try to keep your UFOs (unfinished objects) down to a minimum. Most of all have fun and make one for yourself!

Who will your next knitting pattern project be for? What occasion is it for or is it — just because? Which pattern will you choose….

There are also many techniques that are employed when executing ribbing. But more before the execution, it is important to understand the function that ribbing offers other than simple design and look:

  • used at edges such as cuffs and necklines for fitting and form
  • used by new knitters to assist with sizing
  • used at closures for fitting
